Appearance: Off-white to grayish powder, soluble in saline and standard buffers. It is a neutral protein with a spherical molecular structure. A class of serum globulins distinguished by their minimal electrophoretic mobility toward the anode under neutral or alkaline conditions. During agar electrophoresis of serum, gamma globulins may migrate toward the anode due to electroendosmosis.

Use: Biochemical research. Suitable to reduce non-specific adsorption of antibody in immunoassay systems. Starting material for the isolation of IgG subclasses.
